 CFISD announces districtwide Career Fair set for March 31

March 4, 2026—The CFISD human resources department invites prospective employees interested in becoming a part of an exciting future with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD to attend the districtwide Career Fair, set for March 31 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 3:45 p.m.) at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road).

12th Superintendent’s Fun Run set for March 28 at the Berry Center

Jan. 30, 2026—The 12th Superintendent’s Fun Run is scheduled for March 28 from 8-11 a.m. at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road) and Towne Lake community. Filled with exciting live entertainment, two course layouts for running or walking, kids’ activities and other family-friendly attractions, the fun run is the largest outdoor fundraising event in the district. Funds raised will directly benefit student scholarships through the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation.

CFISD names new chief of staff

Dec. 16, 2025Brandy Baker, chief of staff in Pflugerville ISD, was named the new CFISD chief of staff on Dec. 12. Baker replaces Teresa Hull, who is retiring effective Dec. 31.

Nov. 10, 2025—The CFISD Board of Trustees approved the Districtwide Educational Improvement Council’s (DEIC) recommendations for the 2026-2027 instructional calendar during its regularly scheduled meeting on Nov. 10.

CFISD to host E-Waste Drive on Sept. 6 at Berry Center

Aug. 19, 2025—The CFISD technology department is hosting a community e-waste drive on Sept. 6 from 8-11 a.m. at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road). All proceeds from recycled electronics will benefit the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (CFEF) and Cy-Hope.

CFISD named a 2025 TAEA District of Distinction winner

Aug. 18, 2025—The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) named CFISD a 2025 District of Distinction award winner, marking the fifth consecutive year the district has earned the prestigious designation. CFISD is among only 109 districts in the state to earn the award.

Texas Educational Theatre Association Exemplary District of Distinction

July 24, 2025—CFISD was recently named an Exemplary District of Distinction by the Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA). This is the highest designation awarded to individual schools and districts that are making outstanding contributions to raising the standards for theatre education through achievement, curation of resources, diversity and advocacy for theatre arts.

Harris County Precinct 4 installs 14.1 miles of sidewalks in CFISD

April 7, 2025—Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones held a ribbon cutting ceremony at Cypress Lakes High School on March 31 to celebrate the 14.1 miles of sidewalks installed around 13 different CFISD campuses as part of the Sidewalks 4 Precinct 4 initiative.  

CFISD Career Fair welcomes future district leaders on April 1

CFISD named a 2024 TAEA District of Distinction winner

Nov. 26, 2024—The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) named CFISD a 2024 District of Distinction award winner, marking the fourth time the district has earned the prestigious designation. CFISD is among only 96 districts in the state to earn this award.

ESL Classes for parents

Parents with children enrolled in bilingual or ESL classes at CFISD schools who want to learn English are invited to enroll in district-offered ESL classes for parents. The free classes are offered for three levels of English proficiency: Introduction, Beginner or Intermediate. Registration will take place at the school cafeterias on the first day of class.
